Young children, whatever their background, should have the chance to learn an ancient language whilst discovering the patterns, history and grammar that underpins their own and do so in a way that is creative, imaginative, and relevant to today’s world.
The Latin Programme - Via Facillis
One in six people in the UK struggle with literacy. This means they have a literacy level below that expected of an 11 year old. The Latin Programme tackles this problem by teaching literacy through Latin using drama, songs, games and storytelling. This fun yet rigorous approach combines classical Latin with modern English to boost literacy in primary schools.
We work in many inner city schools and have proven results. In 2013, after three years of The Latin Programme, 100% of students left primary school with at least a Level 4 in English.
