Typical Day

Due to current pandemic, we had to adapt our typical day slightly. The school day is condensed; we will start at 9.30am and finish at 2pm. We hope this will provide an opportunity for our children, parents and staff to avoid busy rush hours and to get to and from school safely.

* Parents are welcome to collect their children at 3:15, however, school officially finishes at 3:25 

 In Year 1 and Year 2 the day begins with a supported reading session during which groups of children work with adults to read books that have been chosen specifically for their ability; adults support and challenge them to read these books and ask questions about the stories.  

 

It is for this reason that we ask that children are in punctually at 8:55 am for Reception to Year 2, as these sessions start promptly 9:00 am. This is a vital time for children to learn new reading and comprehension skills which will enable them to work in other curriculum areas throughout the day. 

 

In Years 1 -6 the children begin with additional lessons, such as Grammar or Numeracy. This starts promptly at  8:40 am
