Dear Parents and Carers,

We are delighted that you have chosen, or are considering choosing, St Monica’s for your child’s Reception place in September 2026.

Being entrusted with your child’s early education is a privilege we value deeply. Whether you have already accepted your place or are still making your final decision, we want you to know how much we look forward to working in partnership with you and supporting your child as they begin this important stage of their learning journey.

At St Monica’s we EMBRACE everyone; we are a proud multi-cultural and multi-faith school, committed to offering an exceptional educational experience for every child. If you are looking for a school with strong academic outcomes, look no further. Our results consistently place us among the highest-performing schools, and we encourage you to visit our website to explore and compare our achievements. Alongside academic excellence, we provide a rich and balanced curriculum, including creative arts, specialist PE coaching, and engaging Forest School experiences. As a small school, we are proud that big things truly happen here—every child is known, valued, and supported to succeed.

To help you and your child feel confident and excited about starting school, we are offering the following opportunities:

  • Free Stay and Play sessions on Tuesday 21st April and Tuesday 28th April from 9:00am to 10:00am. These sessions are a wonderful opportunity for you and your child to explore our Reception environment, meet staff, and experience our provision firsthand.

  • Free weekly transition sessions (after 28th April) every Tuesday from 9:00am to 11:00am or 1:00pm to 3:00pm. These sessions are designed to help children settle in gradually, build confidence, and become familiar with their new surroundings ahead of September.

  • Free Phonics Enrichment Club for all Reception children during the first half term, supporting early reading skills and giving children a strong start in their learning.

Please book your place for the free Stay and Play and transition sessions through the school office if your child brings the golden ticket below, they will receive a small welcome gift.

We would be delighted to welcome you into our school community and support your child in flourishing both academically and personally.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

We look forward to meeting you and your child very soon.

Warm regards,

Lenka Jallow

"I am writing to congratulate you on the very strong outcomes achieved by your Key Stage 2 pupils in the recent 2023 National Curriculum Assessments. These reflect the commitment from you and your staff to ensuring the best possible quality of education for pupils...It is notable that your outcomes were very significantly above national attainment".
